Simulacra
2023 · CGI video, color and sound · 2 min 14 sec
Simulacra is a CGI short exploring identity and perception in a world increasingly shaped by digital systems. Moving through an artificial city of shifting architectures, mediated encounters, and simulated environments, a solitary figure searches for orientation within a reality that is constantly being constructed around her.
As the distinction between physical and virtual space becomes increasingly unstable, glitches and interruptions begin to expose the systems beneath the surface. Simulacra considers how technology reshapes our sense of self, presence, and connection, and what it means to inhabit realities that are at once artificial, immersive, and deeply familiar.
