Faith in Fakes, 2022
Two-channel HD video (color, sound; 2:15 minutes).

The digital artwork aims to explore the idea of a dystopian future where technology and artificial landscapes have taken precedence over nature and authentic experiences. It depicts a theme park within this dystopian world as a symbol of the commodification of leisure and entertainment, where escalators and sliders replace traditional rides, and a synthetic pool stands in for natural bodies of water.

The juxtaposition of the vibrant, thriving plants against the stark, mechanical backdrop serves as a commentary on the human desire to reconnect with nature even in an increasingly technologically dominated society. It raises questions about the consequences of our reliance on artificial environments and the potential loss of genuine, organic experiences.

Fakes in Fakes invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between our technological advancements and our connection to the natural world, encouraging contemplation about the direction in which our society is headed and the impact it may have on our relationship with the environment.
